So why not add your own? This one from Swissbianco fits all mm Victorinox knives. This is a look at that:. Drill holes in your SAK this only works for Cellidor scales, not Alox , pop off the scales, and put some adhesive on the inside, such as Loctite to keep things securely attached.
I think the original idea was for phones, but it works well on SAKs. You can remedy that with a pretty cool glow in the dark GITD mod. This has the potential to look really amateurish or really awesome, so you should consider your plan carefully.
Like most of the previous mods, you can go about it a few ways. This will allow you to do some cool accents to your knife. Advanced : You can also make glow in the dark scales out of moonglow.
Moonglow slabs are available at knife-making supply stores. Knife Stuff. July 28, at am. December 8, at pm. Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.

Email Address. This mod is a very simple and somewhat well known mod to make it easier for you to pull your knife out of your pocket. This type of opener has also been called the "ghetto Emerson opener".
If you do not know, Ernest Emerson is the owner of the company Emerson knives. He is credited for the creation of the Emerson opener or wave feature on knives. It's function is so that when you pull your knife out from your pockets that the "wave" catches on to your pants and opens the knife. Fairly simple but it has a restriction as it only works with knives that have an opening hole.
This includes all spyderco's and various knives from other brands. The pictures with the zip tie mod are of my spyderco paramilitary 2 and the knife with the actual wave feature is the spyderco endura 4 wave. If you do not like the blockiness of zip ties, tying a layer of string around the hole will work too. The idea of having the knife open as you pull it out of the pocket is hundreds of years old and it comes from Sardinia, and Italian island. The tipical knife is the "pattada" or "pattadese".
The opening was achieved by having the tip of the blade that was half a millimiter longer than the handle, this made it easy for the tip to catch the fabric of the pants while pulling it out. Some traditional costumes of the island also have leather pads close to the pocket that where used for this purpouse, to save the dress under it.
Reply 10 years ago on Introduction. My pleasure ;- Men carried knifes since they came out of caves, and since then history of men and history of knives walked hand in hand. There is something special about knives since they are the only tool from the past that we still use daily.
I'm considering building the kin you had for heat treating my knives. Do you have any photos of knives you have made? I have three more in the row that are about to be finished, one of them needs the sharpening only, will be completed this weekend hopefully.
