Fs2004 windows 7 add scenery

There are two methods for installing addon scenery, depending on the type and folder structure of the scenery download. If your addon scenery contains a few. If it contains a scenery and texture folder, refer to method two. If the download is an executable file. The Pensacola NAS addon scenery is being used as an example for this method. It is available for download on Fly Away Simulation. You can also use my Princess Juliana beach crowd scenery , as it contains a single.

Basically what you have done is to grant the installation exe file s the permission they need to make changes to your setup. If successful, be sure to turn UAC back on again - especially if others have access to your computer. Hope those ideas are helpful. Please let us know. Excellent David thanks. An update, this afternoon I did manage to download all the files I think I also eventually managed to add to the FS scenery library, so I expected good news.

Sadly its still not there. In fact when I rebooted FS as instruceted an error message greated me: "Scenery. Invalid remote scenery path in scenery area Click ok to continue" I did and the program works fine apart from the lack of Canary scenery. Will have another go with your advice and report back JF. This has done the trick! Thanks very much. I hadn't appreciated the importance of User Accounts in Win. I still struggle though with add on aircraft and putting the right files in the right place.

I understand the basics, but readme files generally assume you are pretty clued up. For example does installing FS in its own folder as you suggested change anything when it comes to placing the correct files? An example is the F14 Top Gun aircraft. Aircraft is in but not the guages! Probably not, but after a lot of trial and error I've found that the issue lies with the permission settings etc..

I've tried to manipulate the scenery file directly and get access denied messages and Win 7 will not let me save changes. Ever since I've installed Win 7 I've had little or no control of my computer. I may just go back to XP, Win 7 is just too frustrating for me. Geofa Posted November 14, It is probably the first thing you should do on Windows Vista or 7 to reduce headaches. Even with UAC off you still have to click the blank space in the window for the scenery to add Posted November 18, I just got my new system two days ago and this was driving me crazy!

Posted December 4, Posted December 7, Posted February 16, Opa 6. Whereas FSX loads new scenery without re-starting the game. I have FS running on a 64bit PC with Windows 7, and this workaround has managed to resolve a problem i've been scratching my head about for weeks! I found that as soon as i had navigated to the place i had saved the add on, i clicked on the name of the 'parent' folder for the add on e.

It was then just a case of moving the add on down the hierarchy, saving and re-starting FS As i've tried all sorts over the weeks to get the add ons working, one tip that i found invaluable over the weeks was to set a temporary 'Parent' folder on my desktop with empty Texture and Scenery folders within, and then unzip to those specifically. Some add-ons i have come across seem to have zips within zips, and folders within folders, so this make sure that the actual.

BGL and bitmap files are exactly where they need to be. I'm getting close to making the jump from XP to Win 7. I'm still using FS because of my financial commitment in FS On payware scenery ie Aerosoft, the installer usually installs the scenery itself into its own aerosoft folder within FS Is this still the case with Win 7 or do you need to use this new method.

So in payware cases you need to unzip into a new folder and manually install as described in this thread. Ive so much scenery installed in XP I keep putting off moving to Win 7 because of these reasons. Hi Guys, Yes it also works with FS9. I usually go down another level which shows me the scenery and texture files and then just cancel out of it and you will see your addon at the top of the addon scenery list.

I cannot get this working at all. I am left clicking on the empty white space all around and it won't close at all. I am using Win 7 64 bit Ultimate. The problem still sems to exist in ! Trouble is I can't get it from there into the scenery library. I've followed the instructions that came with it but to no avail. There is of course no instruction on what to do about these errors!
